If you are feeling overwhelmed by the amount of stuff you own, you are not alone. Like myself, many people over the age of 45 face the challenge of what to do with the amount of possessions we have been accumulating. Then thoughts about someday moving into a smaller place, simplifying our lifestyle, or just creating more space and order in our environment dance through our minds. But we end up procrastinating on decisions we know we need to make. Yes, you are not alone! Grace Rehman wants to come alongside you to provide you with bite-sized tips, emotional and mental support, encouragement, and laughter in between the messy middle as you declutter, downsize, and move. Even if you’re not thinking about relocating just yet, these episodes will help you gain momentum to get started with deciding what to keep and what to let go. Decluttering and downsizing (she would rather say ”rightsizing”) can be a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. As your Home Organizer next door, Grace can help you get started and make the process easier and more enjoyable.

31. Plant-based diet and meal prep tips for the curious beginner
Tuesday May 11, 2021
Tuesday May 11, 2021
“What’s for dinner???” Does that question make you want to run and hide??? For a non-cook like me, the answer is an emphatic “YES!!!” It’s too easy to go to a nearby drive-thru, which I’ve done more times than I like to admit. But what if it was possible to prepare healthy meals quickly and efficiently?
In this episode, I had a great conversation with Faith VanderMolen, whose simple yet tasty recipes give me so much hope! Also, if you are curious about what it takes to incorporate plant-based foods into your diet or maybe even transition into a plant-based diet, this episode is for you!
Faith has a growing YouTube channel, Conscientious Eating with Faith where she has value-packed and simple how-to videos featuring her delicious and healthy vegan meals. She also has a recipe book available for purchase on Amazon called Plant Biased: 90+ Easy Recipes and Essential Guide for the Plant-Based Beginner.
What I appreciated most about Faith is how she encouraged me that it is possible to prepare healthy meals quickly and efficiently even if you work 40 plus hours a week.
I hope you enjoy this conversation with Faith.
More about Faith:
Faith is first and foremost a wife and mother. For the past six years, she and her husband have lived as ex-pats in various countries throughout Southeast Asia. The challenges associated with living overseas forced her to become creative with her cooking, and thus The Conscientious Eater was born, a place where she shares her passion for healthy, plant-based recipes and food photography. Now with two young kids, her focus has shifted to creating a holistic approach to not only her own diet but that of her entire family.

When you think of prayer, what comes to mind? Definitely not organizing your home, right? So why am I bringing prayer up in a podcast for organizing and decluttering? For me, prayer has been integral and important in my journey into a more organized life. In prayer, I get to quiet my mind and heart. It helps me to center around what’s important in my life. It brings calmness to my day. It produces peace in my heart. For me, helps me face the chaos that happens in life. You may experience prayer in other ways, like meditating. You may have a totally different set of beliefs than me. Do know that you continue to be welcome here, you are seen and you are loved, always! Join me and Sonia Cameron, Author and Career Advisor, as we have a conversation about the impact that prayer can have as you navigate and organize your job search if that is the season you are in. MORE ABOUT SONIA: Sonia is a successful tech support engineer by day and a savvy, self-made author by night. After experiencing her own career hurdles that challenged and strengthened her spiritual growth, she set out to spread what she has learned through writing. First published in 2014 with Christian Devotions, she harnessed good old-fashioned ingenuity and modern tech skills to grow her prayer and career blog to a loyal 2k monthly readership. Because of her website's success, she wrote a book called God Please Help Me Find a Job, launched for kindle purchase on Amazon in 2020. Have you been there before and can't seem to find your way? Are you afraid that you've truly been burning the candle at both ends? In this episode, I had the honor of talking with Colia Howell about a topic that I feel not many of us want to talk about: BURNOUT! Colia shares about her personal experience with burnout and how she was able to navigate through it and come out better on the other side.
Colia works as a real estate agent and has worked in the field of social work for over 13 years. She is doing great things in the real estate industry while being a mom of a 10 and 13-year-old.
We not only have some real talk about burnout, but we also discuss ways to take care of ourselves and rally support from others.

Do you keep "shoulding" on yourself? How do you use the word "should" when you are thinking about decluttering and organizing your home, your schedule, or yourself?
I found a quote on Facebook that said "Someday is not a day of the week" and it made me laugh. I believe this goes along the same line of thought as this "should" obstacle. See, many of us say things like, "Someday I should clean out my closet".
My hope is that you will stop "shoulding" on yourself after listening to this episode!

Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.
-Gandhi
I've found variations of this quote from other big names, including Margaret Thatcher and Stephen Covey. What we believe has the potential to become our destiny in life. In this episode, I talk briefly about how we can change the same old stories in our minds that keep us stuck in order to move forward with our journey to a more organized life.

Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
"I have nothing to wear" is a common statement we make when it's time to get dressed for the day or for an event. But do we, really, have nothing to wear?
Also, did you know that we only wear 20% of the amount of clothing that we have? Is it possible to simply keep that 20% and forget the rest? Asking 4 simple questions can help. Tune in to this episode and find out!

Does your to-do list pretty much need to be called the "perpetual" list? I feel you. I believe it's time that we slow down once again and try to do one thing at a time and one day at a time instead of staring at a list of "should-have-dones", leaving us frustrated and defeated.

I understand that it's difficult not to be overwhelmed with all the things coming at us, especially now that school is back in session for most parts of the country. Whether it's distance learning or physically returning to school, both events for mamas are quite overwhelming.

Have you been feeling like a hamster on a wheel lately since the stay at home order back in March? Let me be the first to raise my hand with an emphatic "yes"! In this episode, I share with you the two most common reasons that I believe are blocking us from moving forward with being more organized.
I agree with many who say that organization is NOT one-size-fits-all so I encourage you to not compare your journey to someone else's. Instead, focus just on you, how you have been feeling and I hope to be your friendly guide to help you get where you want to go in your personal organization. Let's discover these two common reasons so we can begin to move through them.
